【Bang & Olufsen】(B&O)
High-end audio visual manufacturer from Denmark. Their products are most famous for their beautiful designs, which blend with the cutting-edge function and operation, to be rated highly as the leading industrial design of audio equipments. Their products are well-established around the world, and 16 of their products have been actually selected in MoMA’s permanent collection.

【Goyoutei】
Villa or vacation home owned by the Royal family. The Royal families usually visit them in summer and winter. In Japan, we generally call the large-size villas “Rikyu (=detached palace)” and the small-size, “Goyoutei”.

【Hatsuhito Nagahama】
Chief Architect Director of Myu Planning & Operators. In his designer career of more than 20 years, he has designed many hospitality spaces including restaurants. He is a professional eating space designer who not only designs, but plans and produces the whole space. To list some of his works are: “cucinaHANA”, “Ginza Oshima”, “Ginza Washington Hotel Restaurant”, “Washoku En Taipei”, “Shangri-La Hotel Taipei / Suzhou Japanese Restaurants”.
【Hayama】(Hayama-Machi)
Town located in the western part of Miura peninsula in Kanagawa Prefecture. It began to be known as a resort area since 1887, and in 1894, it became even more famous, for the Emperor’s Hayama villa (=Hayama Goyoutei) built in Isshiki Beach.
【Hayama Beach Fireworks】
Fireworks taking place every year at Morito Beach. A summer event loved by the locals, the fireworks counted its 42nd this year as it took place on July 30th.
【Hayama Marina】
Marina opened in 1964, as part of the facilities used for Tokyo Olympics. The facility is not only for yachts and boats and other marine sports, but there are also cafe, restaurant and shops, plus a local FM radio station.
【Hayama Market】
Morning market taking place in Hayama Marina every Sunday from 9 o’clock. Popular local patisserie, La Maree de Chaya sells their famous “Asa-ichi (Morning Market) Tart”, which you can only buy here, and only if you are early enough to be the first 100.

【Morito Jinja (Shrine)】
Shrine said to be built in 12th Century, when Minamoto no Yoritomo brought part of his belief, Mishima Myojin’s spirit to be enshrined and worshipped in Hayama. The view from the shrine grounds are extremely beautiful, and has been selected as “50 Scenic Sites of Kanagawa” as “Morito Sunset”.

【Osamu Misawa】
Graduated from School of Visual Arts (New York) in 1992, Misawa studied under Javier Romero, then began his career as a freelance art director based in New York, working with Bates Worldwide and The Valentine? Group, etc. He returned to Japan in 1998 and built Osamu Misawa Design Room. Presently, he is a JAGDA member and Tokyo Zokei University full-time instructor

One of the older, local community FM station aired and loved in the Shonan area. Journalist, Taro Kimura, represents the head of the station.

【Tomonori Mikamo】
Gone to France in 1982, Mikamo worked in various kitchens for 5 years before serving as the Chef Saucier at the Michelin 3-star restaurant, Guy Savoy for three and a half years. Receiving many appraisals in Michelin and Gault-Millau, after eight and a half years in France, he returned to Japan. In 1997, he opened “Le Restaurant L’Etoile”, which was praised to be candid and unique, but unfortunately, the restaurant closed the doors despite many fans, in January 2006. Now at SCAPES Restaurant, he brings out the best from the fresh materials of Hayama.

Online antique book shop by Hiroshi Eguchi. Their collections mainly include rare books and noted books, and also arts, designs, various goods, and picture books from inside and outside Japan. SCAPES collaborates with Utrecht by asking them to select books for our library, changing them every 6 months.

【Yujiro Toudai (Lighthouse)】
Lighthouse built in memory of Japanese’ favorite actor, Yujiro Ishihara (on the second anniversary of his death). The official name of the lighthouse is Hayama Lighthouse.
